Buy Midcaps Post Polls: Dipan Mehta

Dipan Mehta, a member of BSE and NSE, said:

This time we don’t have the benefit of exit polls, which have been banned, otherwise that would have given us inkling as to which way the wind is blowing and that could interest a few traders to take position based on that information. But that option too is not available.

Irrespective of the elections, it is quite clear that the markets appear to be out of the woods and on a three-, six or 12-month basis, you could get stability, you could get markets to trade at higher levels,” he said. “There is a one off event which could cause one-off correction, one-off adjustment but thereafter also there is enough economic signals, fundamental signals which do suggest that the markets could certainly trade higher than these levels. So investor should be prepared for the stocks he is interested in buying and if there is an adverse development then that is a good time to enter to the market.

Midcap stocks are just about getting into a nice rhythm and they are seeing an interest after several months. I think that particular trend will only gather momentum over the next few months.
